Square Where can I find the Windows XP CD for my system?

The CSS Labs workstation comes with a Windows XP System Recovery CD. Check with your IT department.

Square Where do I find the system serial number?

Your system's serial number is found on the back of the CSS labs system case.

Square Wrong CD Key for Windows 95

Before reinstalling or updating your Win 95 system, retrieve the CD Key number by right clicking with the mouse on My Computer ICON on your desktop. The CD Key on your CD ROM, although a correct one, cannot be used because the original installation is done by duplication process at the factory. If you are formatting the drive, your CD Key number is valid.

Square Upgrading to MMX

Intel MMX CPU is only upgradeable on Triton II based motherboard shipped after June 1997. Do not attempt to test this theory. MMX is a 2.8V CPU. The on board voltage regulator is 3.3V and will overheat your MMX CPU. MMX is not available on Neptune and Triton I based motherboards. Triton I MMX SBC is available from factory.

Square Triton II systems does not display Intel MMX CPU speed greater than 200Mhz

A BIOS update is needed to display the correct CPU settings for Intel MMX CPU 233 Mhz. Visit the downloadable area for BIOS update file T2MMX.ZIP. The jumper settings for 233MMX is the same as the 100Mhz settings imprinted on the printed circuit board. The Bios screen will display CPU type P55C instead of P54 as an indication for MMX CPU.

Square  Segmented Passive Backplane Power On/Off Sequence

All 2/3 segmented passive backplanes share a common power supply. Switching On or Off from the main switch will boot up all segments. However, if any segment is power down via the segment switch for maintenance, that segment will not boot up until the reset switch for that segment is press. This is because the good power signal is not applied to that segment after the initial system boot.

Square Resetting Fault Lights For MaxPro Series

All MaxPro Series 800/1000/1100/1500 have fault lights that may flash upon detecting an error. If the problem is acknowledged and you want to stop the lights from flashing, follow this procedure: Insert the keylock key into the control panel. Turn the key clockwise. Press the reset button, hold down and count to seven. The lights will stop flashing. Return the key to counter clockwise and remove it.

Square "P" key problem with Triton I based motherboard

Triton I motherboard with Award BIOS dated before 4/4/96 will experience intermittent lost of the "p" key in either lower or upper case. Subsequent release of the Award BIOS fixed the problem. Download tritflsh.zip file from downloadable area.

Square NT 3.51/4.0 does not keep hardware changes after reboot.

All CSS Labs Inc. system boards with Award Bios must have the daylight saving feature disable in the CMOS for Win NT changes to be updated. After that, the daylight feature may be enable again.
